We respect your privacy. Not so much because we are forced to by legislation, but because we treat you as we would like to be treated ourselves. This attitude makes us automatically comply with European, Californian and Dutch law..
What does that mean?
We make a serious effort to keep as little personal information online. When we keep e.g. your contact info, we do that on our computers offline and not in a cloud-service or on this site. We have disabled all possibilities to react and post pictures as a consequence. Reactions can be sent by email, which we keep in a very old-school way in our own email client and not on a webservice.
Sore point. We do not like those either, but we need to serve a couple of those to keep the site going and for analytics purposes. You also might see a Gravatar tracker. We do not use that, but have not been able to remove that. Jetpack however keeps our site secure and up to speed, so we need that.
There are some external connections, such as the payment gateways that do serve cookies. There is no way around that and as we are only dealing with trusted platforms we are sure that that information is OK.
Enclosed content of other sites
Some sections of this site may contain content that is served up from third parties. Think e.g. YouTube or Vimeo. The behaviour of these is as it is on those sites. There is no interaction and we do not get information of those. It behaves as if you are visiting that particular site and their terms apply. It’s their cookies and their tracking and we have no say over it. We try to limit those sources as well, but as you might understand a video posted on a third party channel may have its benefits.
With whom do we share your personal information?
The accountant. Other than that: no one. Although the naming convention of the Torso Carroz cabinets started out as just that, it proves to be a great privacy tool. Outside contractors just are given the name of the commision and no client information. Staff has been sworn to secrecy and will be whipped when in violation.
How long do we keep your infrmation?
When you are a client, a potential customer or newsletter subscriber, we keep that information for a long time as this may facilitate future communication and orders. All other contact information of lesser importance will be purged after a year. Banking and payment information through third parties we have no control over, so we can not tell anything sensible about this.
What are your rights?
At any time you can request to see the infrmation we keep on you and we will sent that promptly, just as you may request to have this promptly.
Permission for marketing purposes
The world of carenthousiasts and collectors is a tight one, so dropping a name might help us. We will always ask your permission to do so beforehand. The same goes for publication on this site.
That wraps it up. If you have any questions or suggestions on this subject, please let us know.
